Since 1947 when the government of Canada stopped issuing the Volunteer Service Medal—CVSM, those serving for less than 12 years and never served in a place where Canada recognized their service with a medal, have not been recognized. David Palmer, a Veteran has on veterans behalf hounded different governments to re-instate a volunteer medal. None have done so to date even with thousands of signatures by ranking veterans and MPs. So a few of us got together and under the guidance of David—-he did the art work for the medal, produced our own.
